MSC 529 Maximizing Performance of Self and Others

This artifact is an individual writing assignment that I submitted for MSC 529 titled Assignment 2 Leadership and Courageous Conversations. For this assignment I had to identify a situation in my life, work or personal, where a courageous conversation was needed or might occur and have that conversation. I chose to have a conversation with my supervisor at work and advocate on behalf of myself for a promotion.
The intended outcome of the assignment was to demonstrate that I could reflect on my “courageous conversation” scenario and draw lessons from the experience that would inform my leadership style, communication style and decision-making process for future courageous conversations. That by looking back on the situation, the conversation and what will or has transpired as a result of the conversation I would be able to identify approaches or communication techniques that I might repeat or change, and explain why.
