MSC 529 Maximizing Performance of Self and Others
This artifact is an individual writing assignment that I submitted as my final paper for MSC 529, titled Assignment 3: Vision of Leadership. For this assignment I had find an original image that represented my vision of leadership, explain the vision, explain how I would come to embody that vision, and identify a questions or questions I could use to spot check myself now and then against my vision.
The intended outcome of the assignment was for me to develop my personal vision of leadership, explain how I could (would) live that vision, and find a way creatively (visually) to express that vision. Throughout the quarter we learned about and discussed the myriad ways that leaders convey messages through words, stories and questions, but often overlook these expressions through symbols and imagery. In this assignment, I was tasked realizing and expressing my own vision of leadership. For seven out of ten weeks in the course, I submitted one-page reflections about leadership ideas or examples I had observed during the week, through the reading, in the media, or my workplace etc. but this time I had to think of myself as a leader, and describe what that would look like. The final output was aspirational, and that was understood as the instructions for this project, but it helped me to realize that I can be a leader, and express very distinctly in what ways I can be a leader.
